Well. It will never achieve the legendary status of the Fuzzbuster, but Cobra’s iRadar 200 does bring a few tricks of its own to the table. Paired with an iPhone or Android smartphone, this smart radar detector provides full 14-band protection from X-Band radar, K-Band radar, Ka-Band radar, POP mode, VG-2, all 6 laser types, and Safety Alert. Geez, po. That’s a lot of ways you got there to give people speeding tickets. Imagine the if that much effort and ingenuity were put into methods for building better roads and improving the flow of traffic in major cities….
Cobra’s detector mounts to vehicle windshields as usual, but enhances standard detection functionality by pairing with the iRadar app. Here the user’s phone will deliver alert sounds through its speaker, plus show visual alerts, such as the presence of speed and red light cameras, known speed traps, and dangerous intersections. The app also shares alerts and locations in real-time with the Cobra iRadar community. The default radar screen continuously displays electronic speed readings and direction headings. A City/Highway mode option helps reduce false alerts.
Use of the iRadar 200 does not interfere with a smartphone’s Bluetooth hands-free devices or audio streaming.
