Description
What is this, a smartphone for my smartphone? No? You mean I’m supposed to hold this Jelly, this…this…thing that’s no bigger than a pack of peanut butter crackers, in my own giant manhands, and use it to talk and text? You can probably guess what I’m about to say.
I don’t think I’m ready for this Jelly. Are you?
OK, let me give you more to go on than pictures and clever lyric references. The mini-sized phone that is Jelly isn’t intended to replace your existing smartphone, but to serve as an alternative when you’d rather slip a svelte little phone into the coin pocket on the front of your jeans than cram a big chunky one into the double-wide pocket on the back. Even at 3.6″ long x 1.7″ wide x 0.5″ thick Jelly comes with the full features of Android 7.0 Nougat, and supports the 4G network. Those who back the project on Kickstarter can pledge for a Jelly standard, with 1GB RAM / 8GB ROM, or a Jelly Pro at 2GB RAM / 16GB ROM.
Jelly phones are designed to hold 2 Nano SIM cards (if you like maintaining 2 phone numbers for…reasons) and up to a 256GB Micro SD card. They also have 2 cameras: 8MP on the back; and 2MP on the front. Battery life–and here’s something–Jelly could sell me on is up to 3 days working and 7 days standby time.
If your appetite has been whet for some Jelly, jiggle over to Kickstarter and pledge for one through June 6, 2017.
