Description
I would like to listen to my OM/ONE levitating Bluetooth speaker sitting atop my Float levitating table whilst lounging on my Cloud levitating sofa and surfing Internet porn with my Bat levitating mouse. My life coach says I need to do “uplifting” things.
You too can relish the uplift, both literally and figuratively, jamming to the OM/ONE floating orb. Fitted with a 3-watt RMS amplifier, the speaker says it can blare up to 110 dB of pure, clear sound from a package no bigger than a man’s, or husky lady’s, palm. Cue up the Ratt.
The aesthetic interest the OM/ONE generates hovering weightlessly above its base is probably enough of an allure for many. But according to the speaker’s engineers the configuration has technical benefits as well. While other speakers might waste amp energy pushing sound waves into surrounding objects–a table or bookshelf–the OM/ONE’s levitating design directs all 3 watts of its amplifier into the speaker for full, undistorted audio.
The speaker’s hovering design also improves its battery life without sacrificing sound. It should be capable of 15 hours of continuous playback at 70% volume on a single charge.
OM/ONE will use Bluetooth 4.0 technology to connect to smartphones or other Bluetooth-enabled audio devices within a 33′ range. Its built-in mic will also award owners their first levitating speaker phone.
The OM/ONE orb measures 3.6″ in diameter and weighs 0.75 pounds. Its base has a 6.3″ diameter and stands 1.6″ tall. The speaker orb floats approximately 1.2″ above the base. At printing, OM/ONE was collecting backer pledges for their forthcoming speaker, with color choices of Black, White, and Disco.
